SPRINGFIELD, NJ - ELECTROID, of Springfield, NJ has just introduced a
revolutionary new series of EXTREME TORQUE brakes. Called the "XT"
Series, these new units offer TRIPLE the torque in a smaller package.
In any given application, an ELECTROID "XT" brake is about 1/3 the size of a standard brake, yet it performs the same as its larger and heavier counterpart, making it a cost-saving replacement as well as a space-saving solution.
ELECTROID's "XT" Extreme Torque brakes employ an innovative and
proprietary friction material that breaks the barrier in the design and
manufacture of friction surfaces. In some cases, the XT Series has an
unprecedented coefficient of friction approaching 1.0 (.75 to .95 depending
upon pressures and unit size).
ELECTROID's "XT" brakes are power-OFF brakes that are suitable for those applications that require extreme torque for holding. The material has been rigorously tested in aerospace applications including performance under shock and vibration conditions as well as used in outer space under extreme vacuums and cold temperatures. In addition to many Aerospace applications, XT Extreme Torque brakes are suitable for robotics, computer chip and clean room handling equipment, automation machinery, medical equipment and other high-tech applications requiring the highest torque in the smallest possible package.
