News ReleaseElectroid Introduces New Cost-Effective AC Brake LineToday's Date -- 11/15/00 SPRINGFIELD, NJ - ELECTROID, of Springfield, New Jersey, has just introduced a new line of cost-effective AC brakes. Electroid has been a world leader in the design and manufacture of electromagnetic brakes, clutches and devices for rotary motion control for more than 50 years.
Called "Temporiti" AC brakes, these cost-effective, rugged, high
quality brakes provide an efficient solution to a wide variety of industrial
applications where three (3) phase AC voltage is available.
Electroid's new "Temporiti" AC brakes are power-off, or "failsafe" brakes, designed to hold a load like a parking brake, or to stop a load completely when power is shut off. These units mount easily to the back of an AC motor and are wired directly to the AC input of the motor. Nine standard sizes are included in the product range, with torques ranging from 3 lb.ft. to 220 lb.ft. A wide range of voltages are available, including 208, 230, 460 and 575 VAC.
